Girl Club:  DJ Domenica
Carlos Silva

Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove
your love to me...

She started her twenty year legendary run in the world of DJ-ing, playing none other than Miss Madonna's "Into the Groove". It's 1988 fresh from New York City, Saturday night, and she's out at "Talk of the Town". The resident DJ gets into a fight with the bar owner and walked out. So they ask her to get in the DJ booth and start working. For the first two songs she played, it was all a blur, too nervous, but after that, it was a piece of cake.

Her favorite music era was dance/house in the late 80's - early 90's. "People danced more back then", according to Domenica. Needless to say hip-hop has been a big adjustment to make. But she is planing to keep going 'till there is no more.

When have you ever heard of a DJ working for the same bar for ten years in a row? Well, she did it at "The Biz", from 1993 to 2003. She also worked at E-Lounge in 2004. Now you will find her at zGirl Club.

Domenica says she's not in it to get attention. She just loves music.

Come out and see Dj Domenica work soon. She only has a few months left in the Valley of the Sun, she is moving back to New York, early next year.

Thank you DJ Domenica, for all the fun nights you gave us!
